How The Solver handles personal information.
Last updated: 12 October 2026
The Solver (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with this website and our services. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Information we collect
This website does not use contact forms, does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not ask you to create an account. We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it, for example when you email us. This may include your name, contact details, organisation, role and anything you include in your message.
If you engage with our Talent & Recruitment practice as a candidate, we may collect information such as your CV, employment history, qualifications, referee details and assessment results, with your knowledge and for the purpose of considering you for roles.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) in server logs for security and operational purposes.
How we use it
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, provide and manage our services, consider candidates for roles and introduce them to prospective employers with their consent, send information you have requested (such as our capability statement), meet legal and contractual obligations, and keep appropriate business records.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for unsolicited marketing.
Disclosure
We may disclose personal information to trusted service providers who support our business (for example email and hosting providers), to specialists engaged on a specific engagement where necessary and appropriate, to prospective employers or clients in the case of candidates who have consented, or where required or authorised by law. Some service providers may store information outside Australia; where this occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled appropriately.
Client data
Data provided to us by clients during an engagement is handled in accordance with the confidentiality and data-handling terms agreed for that engagement.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, and we retain it only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
Access, correction and complaints
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or raise a privacy concern, by emailing hello@thesolver.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page.
